A quick Bachman Greenbelt moment and a reminder to stay on the trails!

The Bachman Creek Greenbelt in Northwest Dallas is being transformed. Formerly overgrown with privet and impassable for decades, Friends of Bachman Lake and several partners like Greenspace Dallas have worked with Dallas Park and Recreation to restore these acres to their natural state. Accessible from the eastern end of Bachman Lake (behind the Embassy Suites on Northwest Highway) and from the cul-de-sac at Cochran Chapel Road, south of Northwest Highway and Midway Avenue, the Greenbelt is becoming a treasure. Enjoy a snippet of a leisurely stroll throuh the clearing, heading toward newly created paths.

Bring on the wheeled wonders! The Bachman Lake Skate Park officially opened in May to much anticipation and celebration. The inaugural cermony was filled with accolades, tributes and great anticipation as restless skaters looked on, teasing their skills while the ribbon cutting took place the way a baseball batter takes practice swings before stepping up to the plate. Soon after the apsplause died down, the park was buzzing with a full-on skating display that did not disappoint. We think this addition to Bachman Lake Park is going to be popular. Just sayin'.
