In December, Love Field Airport presented their plans for an alternate entrance to the Transportation and Infrastructure Committee. Our first chance to ask questions about their plans will be at the Good Neighbor Program meeting on January 14th (details under Events section of the newsletter). If possible, please read the full report from Love Field, before the meeting.

Requesting speed controls on Shorecrest (the south side of Bachman Lake). To report this, enter a request for Speed Limit Change Request
Adding a pedestrian / cycling lane at Webb Chapel bridge which is currently 5 feet wide and very dangerous (Bike Paths/Routes Maintenance)
Requesting street parking signs added to Shorecrest and Webb Chapel to allow for street-side parking during Park hours (Traffic Sign- New)
Fix pot holes on Shorecrest (Pot Hole - Routine Repair)
Interagency Projects: a traffic light at Harry Hines and Cullum Ln for DART station access, better cross-walks to access DART station at Webb Chapel Ext and Denton Dr, TxDOT repair of Denton Dr bridge, TxDOT sidewalks along north side of NW Hwy

2019 Accomplishments and Fundraiser
It’s hard to believe that we only started FoBL 9 months ago! Time flies when you are having fun and staying busy. We certainly have been busy, so much so that we could not fit our list of accomplishments in the newsletter, so instead we put together this video covering our first 7 months:
One of our major accomplishments in 2019 was the creation of an exhaustive list of city projects in the Bachman Lake area and of the Community Needs for our area. This list was reviewed with departments from the City of Dallas and now we are trying to figure out the best way for those departments to update the community. Our suggestion has been to use the existing Airport Good Neighbor Program meetings as a forum so that all the involved departments (Airport, DWU, Parks and Transportation) can give updates versus having citizens have to attend a variety of independent meetings. We think FoBL could also start live streaming the Good Neighbor Program meetings for those that cannot attend. Please take a look at the document and let us know if there is anything that has been missed!
As you see in the video, we closed out the year with a fundraiser, where we raised $30,000! We hope to be at the $45,000 mark soon and will be requesting matching funds from the Parks Department to clean up the Bachman greenbelt and build some nature trails. We hope you will engage and participate in the clean-ups so that by this time next year, we can have a grand opening celebration!
Events
Our monthly plogging event is every 2nd Saturday of the month from 6-7ish (or whatever time your coffee or daylight hours kick in). Bring one of those plastic bags we all have around the house and put it to good use. Walk the path or meander off of it and pick up trash. It’s great for the hamstrings! Give a shout-out to anyone you see walking around the lake with a plastic bag - they are clearly FoBLers!
Don't forget to fill out your Plogging Report when you're done. It's a great way to keep track of just how much trash is collected each month.
Also, don't forget to join us at our monthly ‘meeting of the minds’ at Bluffview Growler. It's on the 4th Wednesday of every month from 4-6PM. No RSVP needed.
The Love Field Good Neighbor Program holds its quarterly meeting on January 14 at 6pm at the K.B. Polk Recreation Center, 6801 Roper St, Dallas, TX 75209.
The next Love Field Environmental Advisory Committee meeting will be held on January 16, 2020 at 6pm. 7555 Lemmon Avenue, Room 103.
