New Partnership Raises Our Green Profile

Because you’ve shown such meaningful support for Friends of Bachman Lake, we wanted you to be among the first to hear some exciting news.

We’re honored to share that Friends of Bachman Lake has been selected for the Texan by Nature Conservation Wrangler program, one of the most competitive and respected conservation accelerators in Texas. This recognition celebrates our work restoring the Bachman Greenbelt and reimagining it as a thriving space for both people and nature. Read the press release.

Each year, leading science-based conservation projects from across the state apply to this highly selective 18-month program. Only six organizations are chosen, and we are proud to be part of this exceptional cohort.

Through this partnership, we’ll receive hands-on support to help us grow our impact, including strategic planning, program development, marketing, data and metrics analysis, professional storytelling, and partnership building. In short, this opportunity will help us move faster and further toward our vision.

That vision is a bold but deeply practical effort to transform 58 acres of underutilized parkland in the heart of Dallas into a vibrant Texas Native Arboretum. This work will deliver measurable benefits, including improving air and water quality, supporting biodiversity, and creating a welcoming green space for our community to enjoy.

The recognition of Friends of Bachman Lake as a member of the Texan by Nature Conservation Wrangler program affirms what you already know: this project really matters.

Now, we’re inviting you to help us build on this momentum. Your support will directly accelerate restoration efforts, expand community engagement, and ensure the long-term success of the Bachman Greenbelt.

If you believe in creating lasting environmental and community impact, please consider making a gift today.
