We're excited to announce new improvements to the Bachman Greenbelt, courtesy of Alden Thomas and Troop 125! Alden has worked with Friends of Bachman Lake on his Eagle Scout project, to improve the existing signage in the Greenbelt.
You probably have seen the two sign structures that adorn each side of the greenbelt, one in the meadow at Cochran Chapel Road, and the other by the entrance to the loop trail behind Embassy Suites. The kiosks contain a map of the Greenbelt, and have been the target of vandalism in the past.
This weekend, Alden completed his project, which was to improve the kiosks by adding a new hinged guard for the signs, and adding corkboard where we can post announcements around upcoming events.
We are planning some exciting things for the future, including nature walks, so watch this space (or posts on the newly secured boards on the kiosk) for details!
Thank you to Alden, and to the generosity of those who contributed to his GoFundMe effort, to make this happen!
